Turtle Islands Park (Sandakan Jetty)

Turtle Islands Park, located off the coast of Sandakan, Sabah, is a protected marine park comprising three islands — Selingan, Bakungan Kecil, and Gulisan. Gazetted as a park in 1977, it is one of the most important turtle conservation sites in Southeast Asia, famous for the green and hawksbill turtles that come ashore to nest all year round.

The main island, Selingan, offers visitors a unique opportunity to witness the magical moment of turtle landings and hatchings. At night, guided by park rangers, guests can observe mother turtles laying eggs and even participate in releasing baby hatchlings into the sea — a truly unforgettable experience.
